This screenshot feature will be built directly into Microsoft Edge. Users will be able to take a screenshot, copy, save, and share it. So far it is unknown if the tool will include some useful screenshot features. For example, will it be able to take a screenshot of the entire web page that extends beyond the screen? Will users be able to select a section of the screen to capture, or will they have to edit a full screenshot?...

Since switching to Google’s Chromium web engine, Microsoft’s browser has received more consistent updates than before. However, it still lags behind Google’s own Chrome browser. As Chrome nears its 100th iteration, Microsoft says it will be increasing its own release cycle. Earlier this month, Google said it was moving to a four-week release schedule. That means new Chrome updates roll out every month. To keep pace, Microsoft says Edge will follow the same cycle....

According to Microsoft, escalating attacks from hackers means over 30,000 Exchange Servers have been exploited. All the attacks are from a Chinese cyberthreat group known as HAFNIUM. Security researchers believe the situation will continue to escalate and hundreds of thousands of Exchange Server installations are at risk. “Microsoft has detected multiple 0-day exploits being used to attack on-premises versions of Microsoft Exchange Server,” a Microsoft security advisory notes. “The threat actor used these vulnerabilities to access on-premises Exchange servers which enabled access to email accounts, and allowed [the] installation of additional malware to facilitate long-term access to victim environments....

There was a quick fix available, just don’t use Google as the default search. However, Microsoft also acted quickly and rolled a patch out to fix the issue within hours. Still, despite the fix, the company did not say what was the cause of the problem in Microsoft Edge. That’s changed this week as Microsoft has taken to Reddit to explain the issue. It seems the flaw was triggered by an unrecognized token in the search suggestions JSON....

Windows 10 is updated differently to previous versions of the platform. Microsoft now issues two annual updates (like feature upgrades) which come with new tools and features. These are the releases that have been running under the Redstone moniker while in development (Creators Update, Fall Creators Update, and so on). In between those twice-yearly updates, Microsoft sends out monthly cumulative releases. In a blog post, Microsoft provides a firmware update which fixes the hibernation issue, and you can get it by checking Settings > Update & security > Windows Update. “Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit has executed work to disrupt cyberattacks from a threat group we call Phosphorus which is widely associated with Iranian hackers,” Microsoft corporate vice president Tom Burt writes in blog post. Phosphorus is the name Microsoft has given to the group, but it is also known as the Ajax Security Team, APT 35, and Charming Kitten. Microsoft says it has been following the group’s actions since 2013 and knows it has hacked several organizations, individuals, and governments....

Build-tracking website BuildFeed has found an early preview of what could be Redstone 3. Windows 10 Build 15141 is currently among the rs_prerelease branch. It is among the builds associated with internal testing. However, it is sitting separate to the rs2-release branch, which is where Creators Update builds reside.
