In a blog post to announce the addition, Microsoft points out to a research study that shows 80 percent of shoppers leave a website if its searches are not powerful. In other words, shoppers value being able to easily search for products on a retail site. Bing for Commerce helps retailers maker their on-site search engines more powerful. It leverages Microsoft AI technology and Bing intelligence to driver searches. Among the tools offered by the new integration are product search accuracy, customized visual search capabilities, and product recommendations.

Bing for Commerce is functional across PC and mobile. Microsoft says the tool is now available in public preview for larger retailers.
