The company explains Sticky Notes are available in a special tab in the OneNote app on Android and iOS. We were hoping the service would be more dynamic and allow users to put notes anywhere on the OS. Instead, Sticky Notes are limited to the new OneNote experience on mobile. Microsoft’s Laura Butler, who explained the integration on Twitter: “The feature is part of an updated OneNote app for mobile, which features a new design (if your app is still purple you have the older version).”
But since the cat is out of the bag, yes you want to get OneNote for iOS or Android to access Sticky Notes on your phone. More details as well as a bunch of awesome features across the modern OneNote apps are coming soon… https://t.co/gUV6Os715k — Laura Butler 🐈🥼 (@LauraCatPJs) October 8, 2018 Butler added that Sticky Notes for iOS and Android is not ready for release just yet. However, we expect the integration to start soon.
Expanding Notes
Over the life of Windows 10, we have seen Microsoft put more effort into Sticky Notes. Last month, Microsoft rolled out an update for Sticky Notes on Windows 10, which is now in its third iteration. While the design is not hugely different, Fluent Design elements have begun to become part of the experience. This is particularly noticeable in the app’s new home, which lets you choose which notes to display and which to hide. Once you’ve completed a task, you’re now able to cross them out rather than deleting them. This gives a visual indicator of a person’s progress and can feel a lot more satisfying. Users can also style their notes generally with a new formatting bar.
